Welcome to vDhukan 🌿

Every journey has many chapters, and this is mine.

I moved to the UK in 1992 and, after overcoming language barriers and many challenges, completed my MSc in 2000. I went on to build a fulfilling career, working as a Research Scientist and later as a Pharmaceutical Quality Consultant.

In recent years, life brought a different responsibility. My mother suffered a brain haemorrhage, and caring for her became my priority. Balancing work and caregiving became increasingly difficult, and I found myself searching for a new path — one that would allow me to support my family while being present for her.

That search led me back to something I have always loved: handmade and authentic creations.

I have always been drawn to unique, handcrafted pieces — items made with care, tradition, and individuality. I also believe strongly in being environmentally conscious and valuing craftsmanship over mass production.

How vDhukan Began

This is how vDhukan was born.

At vDhukan, you will find handmade embroidered gifts, home decor and traditional crafts, embroidered cushion covers, scarves, chure, stuffed figures, bang/keyring charms and other carefully selected pieces.

Many of our products are one-of-a-kind or produced in very small quantities, making them special gifts or distinctive additions to your home.

Some pieces are designed and handmade by me in London, while others are created by talented folk artists in Bangladesh. Bringing these together allows vDhukan to connect my life in the UK with the traditional craftsmanship, creativity and cultural heritage of Bangladesh.

Handmade With Care

I believe handmade products have something that mass-produced items often cannot offer — a sense of individuality, craftsmanship and story.

Whether a piece is handmade by me in the UK or created by skilled folk artists in Bangladesh, I choose products with care and appreciation for the people and traditions behind them.

My hope is that each item you find at vDhukan will bring something special to your home or become a meaningful gift for someone you love.
